  • In his book, “Steps to the Victorious Walk,” pastor, Christian writer, and evangelist Frank King provides a Biblical path for Christians desiring to experience a more dynamic relationship with the Lord. This relationship, according to King, is the only way a believer will achieve a victorious life.

To achieve victorious living in Christ, King lays out his step-by-step approach, beginning with step one—salvation. Each chapter thereafter introduces and is dedicated to another important area of Christian living. These disciplines include church membership, Bible study, prayer, sanctification, anointing, faith, serving, fiery trials, and staying focused. Although each chapter can be used as a stand-alone lesson, the goal is for the reader to begin at chapter one, apply the principles learned and then move on to the next chapter. This is because each succeeding chapter builds upon the preceding ones. The end of chapter review questions help the reader to ponder each principle more deeply.

The book contains solid, Christian practices and expounds nicely on how they should be implemented. King does this through everyday facts, personal experiences, and fitting biblical stories. There are, of course, lots of bible scriptures peppered throughout the book. This brings up the only issue I have with this book: the scriptures are taken from the King James Version of the Bible, one of the most difficult to understand. Because of this, these scriptures tend to confuse more than clarify the points made and tend to be more of a distraction than anything else.

More than just providing a roadmap to achieving a victorious walk, King displays his evangelist’s heart, urging his brothers and sisters in Christ toward the Christian life to which we are called to in Scripture.
