Take a large dose of remote, forbidding Alaskan tundra; sprinkle it with the curiosity and spunk of a young female career pilot; add a dash of intrigue and double-dealing and you have a truly first class adventure-mystery. Taylor Morgan, an accomplished bush pilot stumbles across to may so-called accidents that her experience as a Medevac pilot won't let her overlook. But her questioning mind can't decide who the culprit might be, friend or enemy, known or unknown. An alcohol smuggling ring is operating in the small native villages that her frontier airline serves and when her plan is sabotaged, she is determined to find out who did it and why. Although fear and doubt is ever present in the mind of Taylor Morgan, her compassion and love for the Alaskan natives and their life style force her to act almost irrationally to determine who is responsible. The seeming nonchalance of the local constabulary makes her even more determined to uncover the source of the illegal whiskey. The chilling finale in the vast emptiness of the Alaskan wilderness is worthy of the best spine-tingling end to any well-conceived mystery. The surprise conclusion of this puzzler is amazingly simple as it ties together all the otherwise unrelated and convoluted clues.
Megan Rust, an expert pilot and first rate adventure writer
and her indomitable protagonist Taylor Morgan have a great
future and mystery-adventure readers will very easily be
seduced by this wonderful combination.
