We Interrupt This Broadcast includes broadcasts and reviews of major news events from the 1937 crash of the Hindenburg to the countless human tragedies of September 11. Each section provides some brief historical context of the events, along with black and white photographs, some iconic, others much less well-known. Like the similarly styled book, And the Fans Roared On, this book includes two CDs with actual newscasts or reports of the events: hear Walter Cronkite announce the assassination of President Kennedy, learn of the fall of Saigon, and celebrate the Berlin Wall coming down all in one book. This third edition of We Interrupt This Broadcast also includes two new and more recent events that have significantly changed the American landscape; the contested presidential election of 2000, and the events of September 11, 2001.
One of the great things about books
is their ability to take a reader back in
time to experience or relive past
events. Certainly the actual audio
CDs bring these events even closer
to us. Any history buff or lover of
current and recent events in the U.S.
will enjoy We Interrupt This
Broadcast.
