In Wayne County, Pennsylvania Ezekiel McGee knows that he is dying, but does not fear death. His lone regret is that he has not yet revealed his true mission in life. Ezekiel has been a trucker since the late forties, but he has done more than just haul cargo. He has mutilated and killed over two hundred women. On his cabin walls are pictures of each of the roads where a killing occurred. Ezekiel knows that his killing days are almost over and it is time to write an autobiography as the Bundy who was never caught. McGee has an epiphany when he meets church volunteer Patricia Detrick, who he feels is his chosen one to record the murders that will make him infamous. She realizes that this dying senior citizen is a serial killer, but no one will believe that harmless old Ezekiel could be a serial killer. The drawn out but brilliantly written cat and mouse game between Ezekiel and Patricia has a surreal feel of a duel to the death that will remind readers of SpielbergÆs pre-JAWS movie. Stephen Solomita is a master at drawing out the tension and immersing his audience into a believable and extremely frightening story line. TRICK ME TWICE also allows the reader a rare glimpse inside the mind of an aging serial killer, whose thoughts explain why profilers suffer early burnout. This crime thriller, which is on a par with the best of Stephen Hunter and Lawrence Sanders, is must reading for sub-genre fans.
