Les Chappell's fascination with literature began at a very
young age, when teachers would repeatedly catch him reading
science fiction novels under the desk and inside textbooks
during class. He turned this love of language and writing
into a career, graduating from the University of
Wisconsin-Madison in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in
journalism and a minor in liberal studies.
In addition to book criticism, Les worked as a news/features
writer for the online magazine Wisconsin Technology Network,
and a campus reporter/entertainment critic for the Daily
Cardinal student newspaper. He has written on topics ranging
from radio frequency identification to binge drinking, and
was the author of "The Lesser of Two Equals" literature
column his junior year of college.
A native of Brookfield, Wisconsin, Les currently resides in
Madison.
