Donn Gurney, a 1959 graduate of the University of Wisconsin
with degrees in English and Political Science, is founder
and president of Race Legends Incorporated, the world’s
leading vintage motorsport celebrity agency; managing
partner of Management Services Associates, an international
consulting firm; and co-founder and vice president of
Alternative Planning Associates, a firm providing defendant
support services for those involved in the Wisconsin
criminal justice system. Mr. Gurney, beyond being an avid
reader, has performed editing services for many of his
racing clients as they developed books about their careers
and experiences, including America’s first Formula One World
Champion, Phil Hill, and Sir Stirling Moss, perhaps the most
successful driver of the 20th Century. He has appeared on a
number of television specials related to the racing
profession.
Mr. Gurney’s career has included stints in manufacturing,
banking, management consulting, web site development and
other business endeavors. He is the former president of the
Madison, Wisconsin YMCA and was an executive in the
Wisconsin Division of Corrections under three governors. He
subscribes to a number of magazines on a weekly basis and,
in the midst of his working endeavors, still reads four to
six books a week on a variety of subjects, both fiction and
non-fiction. In addition, he maintains the content in
several web sites related to his businesses.
